Yes. As Dr Berman is a specialist a referral from your general practitioner, specialist or allied practitioner (e.g. podiatrist) is required in order to obtain Medicare benefits.
Although a referral from a general practitioner to Dr Berman lasts for one year and from another specialist for a period of three months, often you will be asked to obtain another referral.
This is not in order to see Dr Berman but to ensure that the ultrasound performed on the day will attract a Medicare benefit.
Yes, there is ample parking available on site. You can access the parking area from Burwood Hwy.
You should make sure you have the following when attending your appointment;
This will depend on what your doctor or specialist has requested, although typically we will take a brief history, perform an examination and undertake an ultrasound of the troublesome region.
If your doctor or specialist has requested that treatment be provided then we will endeavour to perform this during the same appointment. Sometimes this will not be practical and the treatment may be arranged to be performed on another day.
This will depend upon the actual procedure that will be carried out.
We have spent many years fine-tuning how procedures are performed. Generally the procedures performed at Independent Sports Imaging are extremely well tolerated with minimal discomfort.
